Scuderia Baldini is ready to be back on track with the Italian GT Endurance Championship just around the corner. The first race will be the home one for the Roman team, in Vallelunga, a circuit that saw the #27 car, driven by the duo Giancarlo Fisichella and Tommaso Mosca, main character last year winning the 2023 championship.
This year there will be a lot of novelties at Baldini, indeed, starting from the line-up, the young Arthur Leclerc will join the duo Mosca-Fisichella. There are also changes to the car model that this year will be a Ferrari 296 GT3, thus saying goodbye to the 488 GT3 Evo used during 2023.
Here are the statements of the drivers on the eve of the first round in Vallelunga
Giancarlo Fisichella:
“I’m very happy with the idea of starting the season again, I’m looking forward to it. Sharing the car with Tommaso Mosca again makes me very happy, and then this year there will also be a new entry, that is Arthur Leclerc, an additional teammate. We are ready to defend the title won last year, we will do our best!”
Tommaso Mosca:
"I am very happy and ready for the start of the season with the new Ferrari 296. Giancarlo and I are thrilled to welcome Arthur Leclerc, the new entry into our crew. We are sure that, together with Scuderia Baldini, we will do our best to defend the title."
Arthur Leclerc:
"It will be my first race in GT3, so I can't wait to start the season with Scuderia Baldini. The tests we did in Vallelunga three weeks ago went well, now we will see what we can achieve."
Fabio Baldini, Team Principal:
“We can’t wait to get back on track for the Campionato Italiano Gran Turismo with the new Ferrari 296 GT3. Last year with the 488 GT3 Evo we were crowned Italian champions and this year we are set to defend our title with even more strength and determination. We are happy to have with us our drivers Giancarlo and Tommaso, who have already shown their incredible talent and we are happy to welcome the young and promising Arthur to our team. The first race will be at home, it's always a special moment for the team and for me personally. It's an unparalleled opportunity to show our value to our fans, on the track that last year saw our dream of becoming champions crowned. We are ready to give our best and to give new emotions to all those who support us. I am sure that, together with the whole team, we will tackle this season with the same winning spirit that has characterized us so far."
The weekend program includes three free practice sessions with a duration of one hour each, two of which are scheduled on Friday, June 14th, respectively at 12:15 and 17:45. The third will be on Saturday, June 15th, at 11:50, in preparation for the qualifying session at 18:35. The race, which from this year will return to the duration of 3 hours, will start Sunday, June 16 at 15:30, and will be available live on ACI Sport TV, channel 228 of Sky, and on the YouTube channel Campionato Italiano Gran Turismo.
